Victorian Burr Walnut Studded Letter Box

The most beautiful box for your recipes or photos. Materials and Style: It features burr walnut veneer, brass strapping, and often incorporates Gothic Revival design elements like studs and decorative metalwork. Purpose: These boxes were designed to store stationery and writing implements, often with fitted interiors containing compartments for organizing paper, envelopes, and other items. Historical Context: Dating back to the mid-to-late 19th century, these boxes reflect the Victorian era's interest in medieval-inspired aesthetics and fine craftsmanship. 

Disclaimer: Minor scuffs, dings. There is a small section of wood splitting on the left side of the box. There is a few silver plate replacement studs on the box. The interiors has some flaking and foxing on the lining.
