Antique French Marquetry Inlay Jewelry Casket

Likely antique French parquetry inlay jewelry box. A style popular in the mid-19th century. 
Material: It features a wooden construction with a checkered parquetry pattern, possibly incorporating different wood types like walnut burr veneer. Purpose: Such boxes were commonly used for storing small valuables, stationery, or as decorative pieces. Likely a gilded bronze, ormolu. Comes with a working key.

This is a unique show stopper pieces. Pair with it on your bookshelf next to your collectibles. Use it as a remote box on your coffee table.

Disclaimers: this box has a heavy seal or varnish to protect the peeling parquetry. Lots of small chips to the inlay are throughout the box. Chips to the corners. There is flaking of the interior lines. Some of the base has peeled up. 1 ball foot has been replaced and repaired.
