Boeuf de Galicie (Galician Ox), illustrated by A. Riffaut.
Origin: This is an engraving (likely a heliogravure with engraving) from "Les Races bovines au Concours universel agricole de Paris en 1856: Études zootechniques" (Cattle Breeds at the Universal Agricultural Competition of Paris in 1856: Zootechnical Studies). Artist & Publisher: The print was executed by A. Riffaut, possibly after a photograph by Nadar, and published by Lemercier in Paris on behalf of the Imperial Printing Press in 1862. Significance: These prints served as both artistic representations and valuable scientific/agricultural references during a period of significant focus on improving and cataloging domestic animal breeds in France.
There is minor foxing to the pages. This is framed in a simple black frame with glass.
Measurement: Approximately 16"x12"
