Portrait of a Horse Oil on Canvas

A charming antique equestrian portrait featuring a beautifully rendered horse’s head and neck, set against a soft, muted green background. The warm tones of the horse are beautifully complemented by the aged patina of the original wood frame.

The simple composition gives this piece such a timeless, collected feel—perfect for an English country home, library, study, or equestrian-inspired interior. I love the way the small scale and restrained palette make it an easy piece to layer into a gallery wall or display alongside other sporting and equestrian antiques.

The original frame has wonderful character, with rich wood tones and natural signs of age that add to its antique charm.
