French Verdure Style Tapestry

These tapestries are characterized by their lush landscapes and naturalistic motifs, often featuring castles and figures in pastoral settings. The tapestry shows a chateau, with courtiers, a mother and daughter, and a puppy at the bottom left. Verdure tapestries like this one celebrate the beauty of nature, with the natural elements often being a central focus, even when human figures or structures are included. Although there are no marking on this tapestry it is similar to Belgian or French origin. There is minor thread pulling on the boarder of the tapestry. There is minor staining, although the color of the tapestry makes it hardly noticeable. The bottom of the corners of the tapestry are slighting turning inside. Spectacular styled in a dinning room or behind a dresser. The age of this tapestry is likely early 1900's.
